I ran across this commercial for the new Tiffany Celebration Rings. As I watched, I began to feel awe and wonder. Then, I became puzzled. Who are they marketing towards? It’s like they made a commercial that is supposed to be every bit as gorgeous as their jewelry. But does anyone actually think they can be these people? Looking like models? Living in NYC? Wearing a 1/2 million dollar ring? Maybe it’s the fact that the first real piece of jewelry I owned was a gold necklace my brother bought me in college (queue the “awww!” moment), but I am thoroughly perplexed by this commercial.
Jesse wasn’t, however. When I showed it to him, the first thing he said was, “wow. we poor bastards don’t stand a chance.” 😀
